As Spring approaches, everything starts to get a lot brighter & bolder. No matter the season, print-mixing is always one of my favorite styling trends. These days, there’s almost no wrong way to throw your two favorite prints together. Stripes & polka dots are 2 prints that are going to be huge for spring. What I love about stripes is they can be super fun & playful, or you can style them to be dressier for more of a business look or feel. I’m going to be taking you guys through some of my favorite ways to do stripes & print mixing, let’s go!
I absolutely love this first look. We kind of did it all with the dressier stripes for a business/ Street style look. I paired the pants with this dot print blouse, & topped it all off with this amazing rose colored blazer. I’m all about some color, so when a couple of pieces to a look are more natural or toned down, you can guarantee that I’m always going to throw a piece in there that brightens it up a bit. But why just stop with adding one color? Like mixing prints, I also love to color block or mix different colors with looks as well. I’ve also been super into little silk scarves. You can throw them around your neck or style them different ways in your hair, & a lot of times, especially in this case, it kind of just ties the whole look together.
The next way I chose to style my stripes is a more casual feel. I absolutely love throwing on a tee & pair of sneakers with trousers. Added some color to this look with this lavender moto jacket. This color is super in for the season & I’m excited about it. Loving all pastels right now. If you’re looking for a simple & casual way to wear your stripes, this one is definitely for you.
Lastly, I mixed this dot print top with a leopard jacket & cream trousers. This can really go either way, a dressier street chic look, or a casual run around look. Again utilizing a scarf can add some color & also break up the prints a bit. If you’re feeling really bold, you could throw a print on the bottom half as well, but I try not to get too crazy 😉 unless a pant is some sort of stripe, I like to keep the bottom half of my wardrobe a little more simple. You can always spice it up with a cool or colorful shoe.
Whatever style you’re going for, there are so many different ways to wear the stripe & mixed-print-trend. So be bold & rock your prints with confidence (:
